BANKSY
Banksy is an unknown and well-known British graffiti, or street artist.
Having over 20 years in the street art scene, Banksy's real identity is still unknown, but his art itself is so well-known, the images instantly become viral, numerous documentaries have been made regarding his work, and people steal the walls his stencils are on!
Banksy's graffiti style consists of layering stencils - each layer is a different tonal value of the image, usually consisting of 3 or 4 layers.
His work could be seen as humorous but also controversial consisting of political and social messages portraying peace and love.
Banksy's work is meant for the public to enjoy...or not enjoy.
However, people are putting his art in their own hands (literally) by reassembling walls, destroying properties just to reassemble the Banksy and sell it either at an auction or in a museum; a place where the art has never been intended to be displayed.
