Sketchbook Assignment #13: WE ARE MIDDLETOWN HEROES
Everyday we face challenges, some greater than others, but nothing surmounts the challenges we all faced during COVID-19.
Grocery store workers, health care providers, restaurant workers, first responders, mass transit workers, and postal delivery drivers all risk their lives for others. Some of these heroes were you, your family members, or friends. There are so many people in our community taking this time at home to help others by making and donating masks, painting rocks with positive imagery/messages, strangers leaving necessities for essential workers to take free of charge, etc. This project is a homage to ALL of those who braved the COVID in one way or another.

For this project, you will create your own original artwork honoring a heroic person or action. You can use ANY art material(s) available or you can make it digitally. Your artwork must be 100% original, meaning you cannot copy someone else's idea. The entire page or composition needs to be filled; background and a large subject matter. Check out the posters made by Shepard Fairey honoring heroes as well as other artists who decided to make art following the #honorheroes hashtag.
