     Contemporary Art

What is Contemporary Art?

                                              KAHOOT!

Contemporary Art is the art of today, produced by artists of the 20th and 21st century. Contemporary Art defies the easy definition of art and challenges the traditional art methods, techniques, and beliefs of what makes something a piece of art. The idea and/or reason to create an artwork takes precedence over the artifact and applies numerous materials, methods, and procedures. Earth works, performance art, digital art, and mixed-media are some of the numerous types
of art found during this period.
After learning about Contemporary Art and seeing different artworks, join KAHOOT to play the Contemporary Art game! Remember, participation counts! https://play.kahoot.it/#/k/34c06688-fa47-4c50-bb79-69e3c8fd92d2

You will be creating a Contemporary Nutcracker

Before you get started, ask yourself the following questions.

- How do you want your composition to look:
~ Are you going to focus on one area of the nutcracker
        OR show the entire figure?
- How is your nutcracker going to represent today's world?
~ Clothing styles          ~ Brands            ~ Social Media
      ~ Technology                ~ Identity           ~ Picketing
       ~ Jewelry                      ~ Economic Status
- How does your nutcracker express your story?
