Final Project
Option # 2: Entertainment Cover Final

Your Mission:

For this project, you will be designing a cover in the style of Ben Copperwheat.
The cover can be an album cover (music), book cover, magazine cover, movie cover, etc.

It is your choice of either re-designing an already-made cover OR creating an original cover.
Requirements:
  1. Portrait: Your cover must have a portrait. This could be of the actual person (musician, author, actor, etc.)  OR it can be a character that is relatable to the genre of the cover. For example, if you were doing a movie cover, the character has to be from the movie.
    1. Pen Tool: Your portrait can be done using the pen tool and no fills!
      1. Strokes MUST be used in various sizes and styles
    2. Painting: Your portrait can be created as a digital painting
  2. Pattern: The original pattern design must be incorporated into the cover
    1. Your original pattern will be submitted and graded separately
    2. The original pattern design can be created using Photoshop or Illustrator
Process; Pen Tool Option:
  1. Create an original pattern using Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop
    1. Document should be no smaller than an 5" X 5"
    2. Save and upload into your Google Slide Portfolio with the appropriate project title (Final: Pattern Design)
  2. Go onto Google and find a high quality photograph (not another person's artwork) of the person and/or character you are creating for your cover
  3. Save the photograph as a JPEG to your drive so you have it as a reference
    1. Upload all references used for your final in your Do Now Portfolio
    2. Open the photograph(s) onto your 11" X 8.5" (landscape) or 8.5" X 11" (portrait) document (Illustrator is easiest)
      1. Lock the layer
PEN TOOL OPTION:
  1. Use the Pen tool to outline the main contours (outlines) of the face
    1. STROKE ONLY - NO FILL!
      1. Be sure to outline features on separate layers (eyes on one layer, nose on another)
        1. LABEL your layers to help stay organized!
      2. Lines should be made using various strokes sizes and styles
        1.  Color of strokes should be a unified dark color (one consistent color) OR colors can vary but should be bold enough to be easily seen
  2.  Incorporate your pattern design into the cover
  3. Save and upload into your Google Slide Portfolio with the appropriate project title (Final: Entertainment Cover)
