Short Story Illustrations 

For our first project, we are going to create an illustration based off of a short story or movie.
​But there is a catch!! 
The illustration will need to show a different character's perspective.
​For example, the story I chose was Jack and the Beanstalk so I am creating an illustration from the Giant's perspective (see sketch below)

Illustrations can be drawn traditionally OR it can be done using Illustrator.
Materials used will be entirely up to you; Pen & Ink, Watercolor, Marker, etc. 
Below is another example of a sketch illustrating a Japanese Fable and the finalized pen illustration.

Fairy Tales

STEPS:

-  Choose your favorite short story, fairy tale, movie, etc.  
-  Choose a character to show the story from their perspective. 
** IT CANNOT BE THE MAIN CHARACTER **
-  Find reference images
-  Sketch your design to create an interesting composition 
- Transfer your work on final copy paper 
-  Finalize your project with chosen materials

    What We Do

    N.A.H.S aims to develop an interest and passion for the arts, and to further its educational role in the lives of both students and our community. We believe that Art should be created with a purpose and therefore should be used to elevate the lives of our students as well as the community around us. We plan to use our talents and skills to give back to the world around us. 

    When We Meet 

    we meet on Wednesdays after school in room 106.  Students will take the 3:30 bus home. For more information please speak to a NAHS member or Mrs. Mendola.
    Mrs. Mendola can be found in room 263 for period 1, room 157 periods 4 & 8, or room 106 period 6 & 9
