Short Story IllustrationsFor our first project, we are going to create an illustration based off of a short story or movie. But there is a catch!! The illustration will need to show a different character's perspective. For example, the story I chose was Jack and the Beanstalk so I am creating an illustration from the Giant's perspective (see sketch below) Illustrations can be drawn traditionally OR it can be done using Illustrator. Materials used will be entirely up to you; Pen & Ink, Watercolor, Marker, etc. Below is another example of a sketch illustrating a Japanese Fable and the finalized pen illustration. STEPS:- Choose your favorite short story, fairy tale, movie, etc.
- Choose a character to show the story from their perspective. ** IT CANNOT BE THE MAIN CHARACTER ** - Find reference images - Sketch your design to create an interesting composition - Transfer your work on final copy paper - Finalize your project with chosen materials
